“Signatures Withheld” Exhibition was a NIGAT fundraising exhibition held at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast. The aim was to raise funds for NIGAT and raise awareness of the practice of Art Therapy in Northern Ireland. The opening night was well attended and over 100 artworks sold on the first evening.

The idea behind the “Signatures Withheld” exhibition was that artists did not sign their name on the front of work, so each piece was exhibited anonymously, to be sold at (a minimum of) £30 per artwork, all proceeds going to NIGAT. The identity of the artist was only revealed when the purchased artwork was collected. Submitted artworks were in any medium and of any subject matter. Work was submitted unmounted and unframed on an A5 piece of card or paper, and signed on the back. NIGAT then mounted each piece. Entries were from a diverse and wide range of artists including some well-known artists, and public figures across Northern Ireland. NIGAT extends its sincere thanks to all those who did such wonderful work to organise this exhibition, particularly to Alice McCullough.
